  • Wednesday, September 18th — 7-10PM at Kumbala Dance Studio

  • Our spring session will commence on Wednesday, January 8th and conclude on Saturday, May 31st.

Rehearsals are held at Kumbala Dance Studio. Occasionally, rehearsals may be hosted at Centre for Dance or Studio 12 Dance Center, subject to studio availability.

  • Dancers must pay a one-time fee to submit their registration form of $25.

  • Wednesday nights 7-10PM, biweekly Thursday nights 8-10PM, and Saturday’s 11AM-3PM at Kumbala Dance Studio.

  • Tuition is $175/mo due the second Saturday of each month.

During the spring, dancers take up to 9 hours of training each week, which averages roughly $16.50 per session. We also train once a month with a personal trainer at $25/person.

Tuition covers the cost of space rental, instructor pay, media fees, team outings/parties. Dancers may be asked to pay out of pocket costs for things not included in the budget.

We also host an annual spring fundraiser to help with competition costs.

  • Team Athena emphasizes industry and commercial style dance. We host a wide variety of professional and local instructors, as well as classes with our directors and in house faculty. This season, we’ve worked with Dez Soliven, Gab Robert, Chris Lucky, Tacir Roberson, Kassidy Bright, Alekz Samone, and Peter Pinnock.

We also offer foundational training in hip-hop, popping, house, vogue, heels, freestyle, and jazz funk as well as strength and conditioning.

In the spring, we typically begin working on our set which performs and competes through the end of the season.

  • Athena’s Angels is the intermediate training team developed to guide dancers toward a successful transition onto Team Athena. We intend to develop these dancers to learn and perform at an advanced level.

Team Athena is our advanced team that is given performance, gig, and competitive opportunities. We intend to develop these dancers to prepare them to take the next steps for a professional dance career.

Dancers are assigned a group to train under at auditions.

  • Though it varies each season, dancers can expect at least 2-3 performance or competitive opportunities. We also typically attend one convention, shoot concept videos, and have our annual team photoshoot.

  • Team Athena members must be at least 18 years old to audition. There is no age limit.

Any members under 18 are a part of our Junior Elite squad, which are hand selected by our directors. There is no audition process for Junior Elite.

  • To prevent scheduling issues and conflicts of interest regarding competitions, performances, and team activities our members are not to hold membership on other dance teams simultaneously.

There are few exceptions to the rule which will be discussed at team orientation.

  • There are no refunds should you be unable to attend auditions for any reason. Please ensure you are available for both audition sessions and orientation prior to registering.
