Kylah Kuura and Darius Brown 2-day Collab Class, December 2026

Ready to dance?

  • Our Thursday Open Classes are hosted weekly at Centre for Dance and rotate between Athena directors Kylah Kuura and Darius Brown, as well as Assistant Director Devion Camp.

These classes serve as a primary point of connection between Team Athena and the broader dance community.

All dancers are welcome — all genders, all backgrounds — though classes are typically taught at an intermediate to advanced level.

At this time, we do not offer beginner-level classes. Open Thursdays are ideal for dancers looking to challenge themselves, train with intention, and experience Athena’s teaching style firsthand.

  • Team Athena Men’s Training is an open, drop-in training experience designed for intermediate and advanced male dancers (ages 16+) looking to train at a high level within the Athena environment.

This is not a team and does not require auditions or long-term commitment. Dancers are welcome to pop in as their schedules allow. Sessions are led by Athena directors and select guest instructors, with an emphasis on performance quality, versatility, musicality, and intention.

Men’s Training will continue as long as there is active interest and engagement from the community. This offering is meant to create access to elevated training — not a permanent roster or competitive structure.

  • Team Athena Presents is our industry workshop series, created to connect professional dancers and choreographers with the Dallas dance community.

These workshops are offered on a pop-up basis, depending on guest availability, and are most commonly held on Wednesdays, Thursdays, or Saturdays. Each event is unique, and formats may vary based on the instructor.

Past guests have included Peter Pinnock, Kassidy Bright, Alekz Samone, Georgie Fabien, Tacir Roberson, and more.

All dancers are welcome, though workshops are best suited for intermediate and advanced dancers seeking industry-level training.

  • At the conclusion of each competitive season, Team Athena hosts an Intensive featuring our two directors alongside a guest choreographer from that season’s set.

These intensives are designed to extend the Athena training experience to the community and offer dancers a deeper look into our creative and performance process.

All dancers are welcome; however, content is geared toward advanced-level training and dancers who thrive in fast-paced, high-expectation environments.

  • Team Athena is an all-female competitive training team that follows the academic year schedule.

    • Prep classes typically begin in August

    • Training Camp Auditions take place in late August or early September

    • Training Camp runs through mid-December

    • Competition Season Auditions occur in January

    • Competition season concludes in May or June

Auditions for Season 10 Training Camp will take place in August/September 2026, with Competition Season auditions following in January 2027.
